Basic Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrival at Istanbul | Transfer to your hotel; Some good local restaurants can be pointed out for dinner this evening.
  • Day 2: Istanbul | Sightseeing including the Roman Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar.

  • Day 4: Istanbul / Cappadocia (Flight to Kayseri or Nevsehir) | Full day Northern Cappadocia Tour. Sites observed: Uchisar Castle, Goreme Open Air Museum, Cavusin Old Greek Village, Pasabagi, pottery gallery, Devrent Valley, Urgup Fairy Chimneys.
  • Day 5: Cappadocia | Full day Southern Cappadocia Tour. Sites observed: Goreme Panorama, Derinkuyu Underground City, Ihlara Valley, Selime Cave Monastery, Pigeon Valley, onyx demonstration.
  • Day 6: Flight to Izmir, Kusadasi | Full day Ephesus Tour.
  • Day 7: Kusadasi / Pamukkale | Transfer to Pamukkale. Full Day Pamukkale&Hierapolis Tour. After the tour, transfer back to Kusadasi.
  • Day 8: Kusadasi / Istanbul – Homebound departure | Flight back home.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Istanbul | Welcome

You will be met by your guide at the Istanbul International Airport (IST) and transferred to your hotel. After checking into your hotel, you will have some time to relax.

Free leisure day afterwards.Overnight in Istanbul.

Day 2: Istanbul | Full Day Istanbul Tour

After breakfast, your guide will meet you at the hotel lobby for your full-day tour of Old City Istanbul. Following a short drive across the Galata Bridge, we will drop off at the heart of the old city, walk the historic streets of Istanbul.

First, we will visit the Hippodrome; the central square that was once used as a horse racing arena during the Roman and Byzantine times, still adorned with the ancient monuments such as the Snake Column from Delphi, an ancient Egyptian obelisk taken from the Temple of Karnak at Luxor, and the “German Fountain”  commissioned as a gift by Wilhelm II of Germany.

Next, we will visit Hagia Sophia, one of the greatest marvels of Byzantine architecture built by Justinian, the once biggest dome in the world, with its grand pillars from Ephesus. Afterwards, the tour will continue with the Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Camii), famous with its blue Iznik porcelain tiles and unique with 6 minarets.

The day will continue with a visit to the Topkapi Palace, a huge walled complex hugging the Bosporus, the former palace of the Ottoman Sultans that is now a museum with an extraordinary collection of Chinese porcelain, art, artifacts and jewels including the Topkapi Diamond, and relics from the Prophet Mohammed.

Following Lunch at a local restaurant, we will head towards the Grand Bazaar, the largest and the oldest covered market place in the world with more than 4,000 shops in the labyrinth of streets. Enjoy the colorful array of shops that offer an endless selection of goods that includes jewelry, fabrics, spices and local handicrafts. After all the visits, you will be transferred to your Hotel. Overnight in Istanbul. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 3: Istanbul | Bosphorus Cruise and Spice Bazaar Tour

Following your breakfast at the hotel, we will move out for your half day tour of Spice Bazaar and afterwards, your Bosphorus Cruise.

First, we will make a stop at the Spice Bazaar (Egyptian Bazaar), famous for its immense selection of spices like saffron, oregano, mint, cinnamon, henna for the hair, special Turkish spices for meat, different kinds of pepper, Turkish sweets such as baklava, lokum, and a huge variety of herbal tea.

Afterwards, we will board a specialized tour ferry for an exciting cruise along the Bosphorus Strait, from where you will see the grand Ottoman palaces and castles, including the Dolmabahce Palace, the Beylerbeyi Palace, and Rumeli Hisar and Anadolu Castles – your guide will narrate the history of the city and its landmarks throughout your Bosphorus cruise.

At the end of the cruise, we will transfer you to your hotel for a leisure day afterwards. Overnight in Istanbul. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 4: Istanbul – Cappadocia | Tour of Northern Cappadocia

Early in the morning, after check out at your hotel we will transfer you to Istanbul Airport to catch your flight to Kayseri. Upon arrival you will be met by your guide at the Airport and you will start you tour of Cappadocia, including Uchisar Castle, Goreme Open Air Museum, Cavusin Old Greek Village, Pasabagi (Monk’s Valley). After a short lunch break, we will continue our tour by going to a pottery art gallery and carpet factory, unique to Cappadocia. These will be followed by Devrent Valley and Urgup Fairy Chimneys.

After the tour, you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Cappadocia. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 5: Cappadocia | Tour of Southern Cappadocia

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel for your tour of South Cappadocia. The day will start with the Goreme Panorama for a breathtaking view of Cappadocia, followed by the Derinkuyu Underground City. Afterwards, we will go to Ihlara Valley for a 3 km hike. Following lunch, we will visit the Selime Cave Monastery and Pigeon Valley. The day will end with the onyx demonstration.

After the tour, you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight stay in Cappadocia. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 6: Cappadocia – Kusadasi | Ephesus, House of Virgin Mary

Early in the morning, we will transfer you from your hotel to catch the early morning flight to Izmir Airport. Upon arrival, you will start your tour of the day by visiting Ephesus..

One of the world’s finest examples of an ancient classical city, Ephesus was once the most important and prominent city in Asia Minor, predating even Constantinople. It housed the Temple of Artemis (Diana), the site of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World; House of Virgin Mary, probably where She spent the latter years of Her life.

After the tour, you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Kusadasi. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 7: Kusadasi – Pamukkale | Pamukkale, Hierapolis

After breakfast at the hotel, we will hit the road for our 3 hour drive towards the city of Denizli, where the famous ancient roman spa of Pamukkale resides.

Pamukkale which means cotton castle, has been formed over time by the natural hot springs, rich in calcium and carbonate, that flow down the slope. We will also visit the ancient Roman Health Spa of Hierapolis, made most famous for it is thermal springs, theatre, Agora and the Necropolis.

After the tour, you will be transferred back to Kusadasi. Overnight in Kusadasi. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 8: Kusadasi – Istanbul | Departure

We will pick you up from your hotel in the morning after your breakfast at the hotel. You will then be transferred to the Izmir ADB Airport for your flight to Istanbul Ataturk Airport, from where you will catch your connecting homebound flight. (Breakfast)
