Basic Itinerary

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Istanbul | Welcome

You will be met by your guide at the Istanbul International Airport (IST) and transferred to your hotel. After checking into your hotel, you will have some time to relax.

Free leisure day afterwards.Overnight in Istanbul.

Day 2: Istanbul | Full Day Istanbul Tour

After breakfast, your guide will meet you at the hotel lobby for your full-day tour of Old City Istanbul. Following a short drive across the Galata Bridge, we will drop off at the heart of the old city, walk the historic streets of Istanbul.

First, we will visit the Hippodrome; the central square that was once used as a horse racing arena during the Roman and Byzantine times, still adorned with the ancient monuments such as the Snake Column from Delphi, an ancient Egyptian obelisk taken from the Temple of Karnak at Luxor, and the “German Fountain”  commissioned as a gift by Wilhelm II of Germany.

Next, we will visit Hagia Sophia, one of the greatest marvels of Byzantine architecture built by Justinian, the once biggest dome in the world, with its grand pillars from Ephesus. Afterwards, the tour will continue with the Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Camii), famous with its blue Iznik porcelain tiles and unique with 6 minarets.

The day will continue with a visit to the Topkapi Palace, a huge walled complex hugging the Bosporus, the former palace of the Ottoman Sultans that is now a museum with an extraordinary collection of Chinese porcelain, art, artifacts and jewels including the Topkapi Diamond, and relics from the Prophet Mohammed.

Following Lunch at a local restaurant, we will head towards the Grand Bazaar, the largest and the oldest covered market place in the world with more than 4,000 shops in the labyrinth of streets. Enjoy the colorful array of shops that offer an endless selection of goods that includes jewelry, fabrics, spices and local handicrafts. After all the visits, you will be transferred to your Hotel. Overnight in Istanbul. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 3: Istanbul – Ankara | Bosphorus Cruise and Spice Bazaar Tour

Following your breakfast and check out from the hotel, we will move out for your half day tour of Spice Bazaar and afterwards, your Bosphorus Cruise.

First, we will make a stop at the Spice Bazaar (Egyptian Bazaar), famous for its immense selection of spices like saffron, oregano, mint, cinnamon, henna for the hair, special Turkish spices for meat, different kinds of pepper, Turkish sweets such as baklava, lokum, and a huge variety of herbal tea.

Afterwards, we will board a specialized tour ferry for an exciting cruise along the Bosphorus Strait, from where you will see the grand Ottoman palaces and castles, including the Dolmabahce Palace, the Beylerbeyi Palace, and Rumeli Hisar and Anadolu Castles – your guide will narrate the history of the city and its landmarks throughout your Bosphorus cruise.

At the end of the cruise, we will depart Istanbul by coach en route to the capital city of Turkey; Ankara. Arrived in Ankara you will be transfered at your hotel. Overnight in Ankara. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 4: Ankara – Cappadocia | Tour of Ankara, Coach Ride to Cappadocia

After breakfast, we will check out and depart from our hotel en route to the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, the greatest archive in the world for civilizations such as the Hittites, Assyrians, Lycians, Lydians and many more which have passed through Asia Minor over the course of history.

Afterwards, we will visit the Mausoleum of Ataturk, the resting place of the father of the modern Republic of Turkey. This great mausoleum was built in the style of the old Greek mausoleums with its columned structure and Turkish influences, in representation of the unity of all ethnicities who at one point have called Anatolia their home.

We will then move on to Cappadocia by coach. After a late evening arrival, we will check in at our hotel. Overnight in Cappadocia. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 5: Cappadocia | Tour of Cappadocia

After breakfast, you will be picked up approximately at 09:30 from your hotel to join your tour of Cappadocia, including Uchisar Castle, Undergorund City of Sarhatli, Goreme Open Air Museum, Cavusin Old Greek Village, Pasabagi (Monk’s Valley). After a short lunch break, we will continue our tour by going to a pottery art gallery and carpet factory, unique to Cappadocia. These will be followed by Devrent Valley and Urgup Fairy Chimneys.
After the tour you will be transfered at your hotel.
Overnight in Cappadocia. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 6: Cappadocia – Konya – Pamukkale | Konya

After breakfast we depart for Pamukkale by coach. En route, we will visit the Seljuk and Ottoman city of Konya, known for its great architecture, ancient Sufi traditions and genuine Anatolian feel.

We will first visit the Mausoleum of Mevlana who was a Sufi philosopher. This was also the dervish lodge of the Mevlevi order, better known as the Whirling Dervishes. We will also enjoy lunch at Konya with its famous “etli ekmek” (bread with meat; a variant of the famed lahmacun).

We will then depart Konya en route to Pamukkale. After we arrive, we will check in at the hotel and overnight in Pamukkale. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 7: Pamukkale – Kusadasi | Pamukkale, Hierapolis

After breakfast and check out at the hotel, we will hit the road for our coach ride towards the city of Denizli, where the famous ancient roman spa of Pamukkale resides.

Pamukkale which means cotton castle, has been formed over time by the natural hot springs, rich in calcium and carbonate, that flow down the slope. We will also visit the ancient Roman Health Spa of Hierapolis, made most famous for it is thermal springs, theatre, Agora and the Necropolis.

After the tour, we will immediatelly depart by coach towards Kusadasi. Upon arrival, we will check in at the hotel. Overnight in Kusadasi. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 8: Kusadasi | Ephesus, House of Virgin Mary, Sirince

Following breakfast, we will immediatelly start our tours of the day by visiting Ephesus.

One of the world’s finest examples of an ancient classical city, Ephesus was once the most important and prominent city in Asia Minor, predating even Constantinople. It housed the Temple of Artemis (Diana), the site of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World; House of Virgin Mary, probably where She spent the latter years of Her life.

In the afternoon, we will visit the village of Sirince, a charming old Turkish mountain village where you can enjoy the relaxed atmosphere ans beautiful scenery. The slopes of the hills are covered with wine yards and peach trees. You will visit a mosque and Orthodox church and you can try some fruity wine in one of the small cafés.

After the tour, you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Kusadasi. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 9: Kusadasi – Istanbul | Departure

We will pick you up from your hotel in the morning after your breakfast and check out at the hotel. You will then be transferred to the Izmir Airport for your flight to Istanbul Ataturk Airport, from where you will catch your connecting homebound flight. (Breakfast)
