General Information

The fifth largest city in Turkey, Antalya is surrounded by the beautiful Taurus Mountains, lying on some of the most beautiful shores on the Mediterranean. It is a true vacation paradise. The refreshing smell of the surrounding pine forests is enjoyed throughout the year. Culture and History

Very worth seeing is the old port "Kaleici". A stroll through the winding streets is very impressive and fascinating, especially in the evening. Another mentionable visit is the Hadrian’s Gate, a triumphal arch built in the name of the Roman Emperor Hadrian who visited Antalya (Attelia during Roman times) in 130 AD. Not far from the port is the symbol of Antalya, the Yivli Minare, built in the Seljuk expressive style.

The open-air museums also grant the most important collection of classical archaeology has to offer. From the port city of Phaselis to the legendary Olympos Mountain, from the diving center of Kas to the culturally rich city of Aspendos with the best preserved antique theater in the world, Antalya has much to offer to both sun-loving visitors and lovers of history.
