Basic Itinerary

  • Day 1: Istanbul – Bursa | Full day Iznik Tour. Sites observed:  Nicaea, Green Mosque, Hagia Sophia Church, Medieval walls of the ancient city.
  • Day 2: Full Day Bursa City Tour – Pamukkale | Full day Bursa City Tour. Sites observed: Ulucami (Grand Mosque), the Green Mosque and the Green Mausoleum, Silk Market and the Covered Bazaar.
  • Day 3: Full Day Pamukkale Tour – Kusadasi | Full day Pamukkale Tour. Sites observed: Pamukkale, Hierapolis, Necropolis

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Istanbul – Arrival – Bursa | Welcome

Upon arrival, our representative will meet you in Istanbul  Airport with your name sign, and you will depart dicretly towards Iznik (Nicaea). During the Nicaea visit, you will visit the Hagia Sophia Church right at the city center, which was the scene of the 7th Ecumenical Council, Iznik’s Green Mosque with its Seljuk-Turkish influenced porcelain tile-work, and the medieval walls of the ancient city. If time permits, we may also visit a porcelain atelier. You will take your lunch, and after the tour we will transfer you to the hotel in Bursa.

Overnight in Bursa. (Lunch, Dinner)

Day 2: Bursa – Pamukkale | Full Day Bursa City Tour – Pamukkale

After breakfast at and check out from the Hotel, you will be picked up for your Full Day Bursa City Tour, one of the former Ottoman Capitals. First, the day will commence with a visit to the central historic area of Bursa, where you will visit Ulucami (Grand Mosque), the Green Mosque and the Green Mausoleum (from the outside). You will also have the chance to tour around the old Silk Market and the Covered Bazaar. At the end of the tour, we will depart for Pamukkale, which is an approximate 5 hour drive.

Overnight in Pamukkale. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 3: Pamukkale – Kusadasi | Full Day Pamukkale Tour – Kusadasi

After breakfast at the Hotel and check out, we will visit the ancient Roman spa of Pamukkale, which means “cotton castle”. It is a natural wonder formed over time by the natural hot springs, rich in calcium and carbonate, that flow down the slope. We will also visit the ancient Roman Health Spa of Hierapolis, made most famous for it is thermal springs, theatre, Agora and the Necropolis. After the tour, we will immediatelly depart by coach towards Kusadasi. Upon arrival, we will check in at the hotel.

Day 4: Kusadasi – Cappadocia | Full Day Ephesus Selcuk Tour

Following breakfast, we will immediatelly start our tours of the day by visiting Ephesus. One of the world’s finest examples of an ancient classical city, Ephesus was once the most important and prominent city in Asia Minor, predating even Constantinople, and also one of the Seven Churches of Revelation. It housed the Temple of Artemis (Diana), the site of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World; House of Virgin Mary, probably where She spent the latter years of Her life. After the tour, you will be transferred to your hotel.

Overnight stay in Kusadasi. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 5: Kusadasi – Assos | Pergamon, Asclepion

In the morning after the breakfast and check out, we will depart via coach to Assos, but will first visit the city of Pergamon (also spelled Pergamum) en route, which was one of the Seven Churches of Revelation, built on a conical hill well above sea level, home to two of Turkey’s most celebrated archaeological sites: Pergamum Acropolis, and the medical center of Asclepion. Both are listed among the top 100 historical sites in the Mediterranean.

We will see the famed library, the terrace of the spectacularly sited hillside theater, the main palace, and the Altar of Zeus. Afterwards, we will see the propylaeum of the Temple of Athena. Asclepion (also spelled Asclepium), the birthplace of Galen, was a center of medicine in the ancient world; the teachings of which have dominated Europe from 2nd Century AD up until Renaissance.  After Pergamon Tour we will transfer you to the hotel in Assos, which is a lovely, quiet Aegean resort.

Day 6: Canakkale | Troy & Gallipoli

After breakfast, we will immediatelly depart via coach towards Canakkale. After breakfast, the day will start with a visit to Hisarlik Hill, the site of the ancient city of Troy, where you will learn about the mythology surrounding the city; the Trojan Horse, which was recently renovated and replaced with the version used in the 2004 blockbuster movie of the same name; as well as the history and discoveries of the archeological excavations initiated by the famous archeologist Heinrich Schliemann in 1870’s. After we will visit the Battlefields of Gallipoli, situated about 15 km from Canakkale. This tour will give you the chance to explore one of the most drastic land wars where soldiers from many nations have lost their lives. After tour, we will depart back to Istanbul.

Day 7: Istanbul | Full Day Istanbul Tour

After early breakfast at the hotel, you will be picked up around 08:15-08:45 for full day tour. We will first visit Hagia Sophia, the Church of the Divine Wisdom, one of the greatest marvels of architecture, constructed as a basilica in the 6th. century by Emperor Justinian. Afterwards, we visit the Blue Mosque, facing Hagia Sophia, famous with its blue Iznik tiles and unique with 6 minarets, built in the name of Sultan Ahmet. Right next to the mosque is the Hippodrome, center of sportive events (chariot races, athletics) and political activities of the old city, where we will see the Serpentine Column, Obelisk of Theodosius and German Fountain of Wilhelm II.  The day will continue with the Grand Bazaar, most attractive shopping center and the biggest “souk” in the world with nearly 4000 shops selling antiques, jewellery, gold, carpets, leatherware and souvenir.

After lunch at a Turkish Restaurant, we will visit Topkapı Palace, residence of Ottoman Sultans exhibiting imperial treasury, sacred Islamic relics of Prophet Mohammed, kitchen, Chinese porcelain, weapons, calligraphy section etc. Live guide commentary is not allowed in special sections. (Harem is not included in the program) Sultan Tombs, there are five tombs of Ottoman Sultans within the graveyard at Hagia sophia. The ceramic panels are the most beautiful examples of the 16th century with purple, red, green and blue flower motives. Prince robes and a small piece from the Kaaba covers are displayed on the sarcophaguses. Tour end around 17:00, drop off to Hotel.

Day 8: Istanbul | Bosphorus Cruise and Spice Market, Departure

After early breakfast at the hotel and check out, you will be picked up around 08:15-08:45 for a half day tour. We will first visit the Spice Bazaar (Egyptian Bazaar), surrounded by the mystical smells and different aromas of various spices. Shops selling dried fruits, vegetables, fish, flowers etc. will surely make your head spin.

Then we will move onto the Bosphorus Cruise on a cruise boat, through the waterway separating the two continents, Europe and Asia, with a possibility to take photographs of marble palaces, ancient wooden villas of Ottoman architecture besides modern residentials and luxurious apartments. You will be able to see, from the boat, Rumeli Fortress, Dolmabahçe Palace, Maiden’s Tower, the Bosphorus Bridge and the Çamlıca Hill. After the tour, we will shortly stop for lunch, from where you will be transferred to the Istanbul Ataturk Airport (IST) for your homebound flight. End of our services. (Breakfast, Lunch).
